The Urus has been a game-changer for Lamborghini since its inception. The automaker’s first SUV is practical and comes with supercar-like performance. While it may compete against the SUV offerings from the uber-luxurious automakers, it faces stiff competition even from vehicles that cost half as much as the Urus.

The folks at Throttle House put the Urus against the BMW X6M Competition and the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63S. Will the Italian bull beat the Germans?

The Lamborghini Urus comes with a 4.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V-8 mill under the hood that dishes out 641 ponies and 627 pound-feet of torque. It is paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all the wheels. The Urus can sprint to 62 mph from rest in 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 190 mph. It weighs around 4,850 pounds. The Urus starts at around $220,000 in the U.S.

The BMW X6M Competition is powered by a 4.4-liter, twin-turbo V-8 engine that makes 625 horses and 553 pound-feet of twist. Power is sent to all the wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. The X6M takes 3.8 seconds to sprint to 62 mph from a standstill. It comes with a Launch Control, too. The SUV weighs 5,225 pounds, making it over 300 pounds heavier than the Urus. In the States, this SUV starts at $108,600.

As for the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63S, it features a 4.0-liter, bi-turbo V-8 mill. It churns out 603 horses and 627 pound-feet of oomph. The engine comes mated to a nine-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all the wheels. The GLE 63S takes 3.7 seconds to go from naught to 60 mph. It is the heaviest of the lot, weighing in at 5,335 pounds. The SUV starts at $113,950 Stateside.

The three raced in a couple of drag races and a rolling race. On paper, the Urus holds the advantage, but does it convert in the real world? We won’t spoil the results for you, but the Launch Control played a big part in the results. One drag race was with the Launch Control engaged and one without, but the results varied.
