This Lamborghini Huracan EVO’s Self-Confidence Was Shattered When It Faced The Tesla Model S Plaid

The Tesla Model S Plaid was way too hot for the Lamborghini Huracan EVO

Brooks from DragTimes brought two of his prized possessions from his collection to the drag strip. One of them is the Tesla Model S Plaid and the other, a Lamborghini Huracan EVO. The Huracan EVO is no slouch by any means, but it was no match for the Model S Plaid. All the Lamborghini models will be electrified by 2024, so until, then, the Lamborghini models might face humiliation this way against the likes of fast EVs.

The EVO Makes Almost 400 Horses Less, But Is Also 1,200 Pounds Lighter

The Huracan EVO is powered by a 5.2-liter, naturally aspirated V-10 engine that makes 630 horses and 443 pound-feet of torque.

This is an all-wheel-drive model, so all four wheels are powered by a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. It runs on Pirelli P Zero tires and no mods have been made to the car.

The Tesla Model S Plaid comes with three motors that make 1,020 horses combined.

It features a single-speed gearbox that powers all the wheels. This example rides on Michelin Pilot 4S tires.

The Plaid weighs 4,833 pounds, which is almost 1,200 pounds more than the 3,645-pound Huracan EVO.

Utter Humiliation For The Huracan EVO

In the first race, the Huracan’s driver had a very poor reaction time when compared to the Plaid’s. This ensured that the Huracan was left dead in its tracks when the race started. The EVO took 10.834 seconds to finish the quarter-mile run at 130.43 mph. The Plaid was much quicker, taking just 9.402 seconds while recording a trap speed of 149.33 mph.

For the second race, the Plaid let the Huracan EVO get a little head start, which I believe was intentional. But, other than it gaining the lead for a couple of seconds, the race was the same as the first one. Both the cars even recorded pretty much the same times here. The Lamborghini took 10.847 seconds at 130.99 mph, whereas the Tesla took 9.437 seconds at 148.62 mph.

Race 2 of 3 Winner: Tesla Model S Plaid

In the third and the final race, the EVO’s reaction time was .635 seconds, whereas the Plaid’s was 1.044 seconds. Didn’t matter because there was no way the Huracan was winning it. The Plaid took 9.491 seconds at 147.99 mph, almost 1.4 seconds quicker than the Huracan EVO which took 10.897 seconds at 130.81 mph.
