Ferrari’s replacement for the 488 GTB features the high-revving V-8 from the Pista

The 2020 Ferrari F8 Tributo is an entry-level supercar that the Maranello-based company launched in 2019. The F8 Tributo replaced the 488 GTB, introduced in 2015, but it’s essentially a mid-cycle upgrade and not a brand-new car. The supercar replaces the 488 GTB in the same way that the 812 Superfast and GTC4Lusso replaced the F12berlinetta and FF, respectively, with the facelift accompanied by a nameplate change.

The upgrade is rather significant as far as design goes. Not only sporting new features front and rear, but the F8 Tributo also boasts more aggressive aerodynamics, which are based on the track-ready 488 Pista. The F8 also shares underpinnings with the Pista and generates the same 710 horsepower. The F8 Tributo arrives just in time for the facelifted Lamborghini Huracan Evo and the relatively new McLaren 720S. Let’s find out how they compare.

The Ferrari F8 Tributo with the N-Largo treatment comes with a carbon widebody kit, new wheels, enhanced power, and is limited to just 15 examples

Ferrari launched the F8 Tributo as the 488 GTB’s successor in 2019. It came with the 488 Pista’s drivetrain and underpinnings, but slot itself as an entry-level supercar, unlike the track-ready model. German aftermarket company Novitec quickly snapped the 2020 model year of the F8 Tributo and came out with its own iteration of it, which consisted of a body kit, new wheels, an engine tune-up, etc. Seeing the popularity, Novitec came up with one for the 2021 F8 Tributo as well.

Now, the company has come another version of the 2021 F8 Tributo called the F8 N-Largo. This limited-edition model comes with a new set of wheels, an engine upgrade, and a widebody kit.

Back in September 2021, Novitec announced its first tuning kit for the Ferrari F8 Spider. Now, after more than a month, the famous tuner finally announced the N-Largo package for the Italian roadster. Of course, the F8 Spider N-Largo looks very similar to the F8 N-Largo - the kit based on the Ferrari F8 Tributo. Just like the kit offered for the coupe version, the F8 Spider N-Largo will be limited to only 15 units.

The Lamborghini Huracan EVO Puts Its Ass On The Line To Face The Powerful Ferrari F8 Tributo

The F8 Tributo to Huracan – Son, your ego is writing checks your body can’t cash!

Brooks from ’DragTimes’ brought a Lamborghini Huracan EVO to the drag strip to take on the Ferrari F8 Tributo. Both these cars have a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and have rear-wheel-drive layouts, and weigh pretty much the same. However, one is a naturally aspirated V-10 and the other a twin-turbo V-8. Which car do you think will take the wins here?

Novitec has made the already awesome Ferrari F8 Spider even better!

It is officially two years since Ferrari launched the F8 Spider back in 2019. And, if you ask us, the supercar was pretty close to being perfect, and no changes were really needed. But Novitec always finds something that can be improved. The updates offered for the F8 Spider are kind of similar to what we have already seen on the F8 Tributo unveiled at the beginning of 2021 (not the N-Largo pack though).

How does this bone-stock F8 Tributo with RWD stack up against a tuned 1000 HP Porsche Turbo S with AWD?

Brooks from the Drag Times YouTube Channel put out a video of an F8 Tributo taking on a tuned Porsche 911 Turbo S in a couple of Quarter-Mile passes. It’s not the first time that these two potent exotic’s have come together, but I really am curious to see as to how well a stock Ferrari F8 fares against a tuned Porsche. The showdown took place at the Atco Dragway in New Jersey.

The Porsche 911 Turbo has an all-wheel-drive system and more torque, but the Ferrari F8 has more horsepower and is lighter

Daniel Abt has posted videos of the Porsche GT2 RS taking on the Porsche Taycan on the drag strip in one instance, and the McLaren 765 LT on another. This time, he brought a 992 911 Turbo S to the strip and pit it against the Ferrari F8. While it’s not a GT2, the 911 Turbo S is no slouch either. As for the Ferrari, it makes over 700 horses and is 600+ pounds lighter than the Porsche. This is the ultimate battle of two quick convertibles – who are you rooting for?

German tuner unleashes the beast out of Ferrari’s newest supercar

Just as customers are now receiving their Ferrari F8 Tributos, a new aftermarket program is already available for Maranello’s successor to the 488 GTB. As most have likely guessed correctly, this program comes to us by way of Novitec, the Italian tuner that’s best known for its work on some of Italia’s finest supercars. This new program for the F8 Tributo is a chop off the old block for the German tuner. It’s tricked out with an impressive engine upgrade, a new set of wheels, and improvements to the suspension that should make the F8 more potent on the road and track. The package also comes with an aerodynamic body kit, but as it is with early bird tuning kits, the aforementioned aero kit remains in the oven and will be launched at a later time. Still, it’s hard not to like what Novitec already has on the table for the F8 Tributo. After all, it’s not easy to turn a 700-horsepower supercar into a bonafide spitfire.

A proper tuning upgrade for a proper supercar

Novitec is the rare tuner that has mastered the art of building subtle tuning programs that aren’t really all that subtle once the package is in place. Whereas other tuners turn on the “wow” factor with obscene aerodynamic upgrades or over-the-top engine modifications — some even combine both — Novitec is perfectly happy providing all-around programs that offer the required improvements without any of the unwanted excess.

Take this new kit for the Ferrari F8 Tributo. You would think that a supercar that already packs a 720-horsepower 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged engine is powerful enough on its own. While that may be true for some, there’s nothing wrong with massaging more power out of that V-8 engine while also providing the right amount of aerodynamic improvements that leads to a more powerful and better handling ride. It takes a tuner with the kind of experience in the game like Novitec has to understand this delicate balancing act. We’ve seen it time and time again from the German tuner, and we’re seeing it now with the Ferrari F8 Tributo.

710-Horsepower Showdown: McLaren 720S and Ferrari F8 Tributo Throw Hands

You’re going to be surprised how this race turned out

Both carry twin-turbocharged V-8 engines that produce 710 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque. Both have seven-speed dual-clutch transmissions. Both are rear-wheel drive. With all these numbers and features nearly identical, the question begs: which of the two is faster in a drag race?

That type of race should be able to create some differentiation between the two, right? YouTuber 888MF sought to find an answer, and like very few people in the world, he was able to bring a 720S and an F8 Tributo to an empty stretch of road for an old-fashion drag race. Who’s the faster of the two?

Replace the 488 Spider on your desktop with the 2020 F8 Spider!

When Ferrari decided to replace the 488 Spider, we go the F8 Spider – a drop-top version of the F8 Tributo with a carry over of technology and chassis technology from the track-bred 488 Pista. It might not be quite as dynamic as the 488 Pista, but third V-8 powered Italian is good for 710 horsepower and 569 pound-feet of torque – enough to push 60 mph breeze through your hair in just 2.9 seconds. As the epitome of topless performance, the F8 Spider competes against the Lamborghini Huracan Spyder and the McLaren 720S Spider, but we’re so stuck on the F8’s design that we’ve decided to feature it as our wallpaper of the day. We’ve chosen our favorite and posted it below, but there’s also a gallery further down the page for you to choose your favorite from. Go ahead and pick your favorite – it’s free!

2020 Ferrari F8 Spider - Quirks and Facts

The Ferrari F8 Spider Is Almost As Quick As The 488 Spider Pista

Although somewhat overshadowed by the reveal of the last front-engined V-12 Ferrari convertible - the 812 GTS - the new Ferrari F8 Spider still enchanted the right people. Largely favorable reactions to its exterior appearance demonstrate that Ferrari Design Studio knows a thing or two about design even without the help from Pininfarina. Interestingly enough, neither the 812 nor the F8 Spider wore the trademark Rosso Corsa color at their reveal, but they have still picked up a lot of publicity.

The F8 Spider, despite gorgeous, isn’t exactly a lot different compared to the F8 Tributo. The only notable change is, of course, the removable hardtop that stows under the rear tonneau cover in 14 seconds. It needs the same time to fold like the one in the Ferrari 812 GTS.

Ferrari’s replacement for the 488 Spider is just as powerful as the track-ready 488 Pista

The Ferrari F8 Spider is the convertible version of the F8 Tributo. It replaces the outgoing Ferrari 488 Spider in the lineup and just like its coupe counterpart, it features technology and underpinnings from the track-bred 488 Pista. While not as dynamic as the 488 Pista Spider, it’s a solid improvement over the 488 Spider. The F8 Spider joins a prestigious bloodline of drop-top V-8 sports cars that begun with the iconic 308 GTS back in 1977.

Ferrari’s most powerful V-8 convertible alongside the 488 Pista Spider, the F8 Spider arrives just in time to compete with the Lamborghini Huracan Evo Spyder. It also goes against the McLaren 720S Spider, yet another fine example of the high-performance sports car market. Find out what sets apart the F8 Spider from its predecessors and how it compares with its rivals in the detailed review below.

The Ferrari F8 Spider - A Topless Beauty You Don’t Deserve

Ferrari keeps seeing fastballs, and it keeps knocking them out of the park

Like the Ferrari 458 Italia and the Ferrari 488 GTB before it, we all knew that it was only a matter of time before Ferrari introduced the roofless version of the recently unveiled Ferrari F8. It didn’t take long — roughly six months if you’re counting — because the Ferrari F8 Spider is here, and it is a certified show-stopper. It’s not an accident that Ferrari is using the platform of the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show to showcase its latest roadster model, or “Spider,” as Maranello prefers to call it. It did a similar thing when it introduced the F8 Tributo earlier this year at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. The F8 Roadster, though, takes center stage this time as Ferrari’s latest stunner. It’s lighter and more powerful than the 488 Spider, the model that it’s directly succeeding. It can even go toe-to-toe with the 488 Spider’s more sinister alter ego, the 488 Pista Spider. This is the all-new, soul-snatching Ferrari F8 Spider. Looks like it’s flex-season for Ferrari once again.

Ferrari Just Detailed the F8 Tributo’s Aerodynamics and It’s Sheer Genius

Ferrari show yet again that they master the art of wind whispering with the 488’s replacement

You can say what you want about the Ferrari F8 Tributo: that it’s not genuinely a brand-new car, that it doesn’t offer mild hybridization options given the grandfathered platform or that it looks too much like the 488 Pista. However, you can’t say that Ferrari didn’t go the extra mile when it comes to aerodynamics. In short, the F8 Tributo is a moving field day for the wind.

The Ferrari F8 Tributo was Ferrari’s surprise for the 89th edition of the Geneva Auto Show. It’s the successor of the impressive Ferrari 488 and, in pure Ferrari tradition, it promises to obliterate its elder peer. The 4.0-liter V-8 engine is shared with the 488 Pista, and it puts out 710 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque. The F8 Tributo is lighter than a standard 488 but slightly heavier than the Pista and slightly slower than a McLaren 720S. With this being said, it still goes from 0 to 62 mph in 2.9 seconds on its way to a top speed of 211 mph, and it is an absolute monster in the corners. How? Thanks to all of those winglets, fins, and creases in the body.

10 Facts Will Show You Why The Ferrari F8 Tributo Is The Superhero of Supercars

This is the new Ferrari F8 Tributo, or, as I suspect some will call it - the Ferrari Fate (you know, F8, Fate, I know, I’m sad). The first appearance of its sexy body will happen at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show and we all have to be thrilled. It is a new Ferrari. One that replaces the magnificent 488 GTB. It is better in every measurable way than the 488 GTB- it’s lighter, quicker, more powerful, and sticks better to the ground. Plus, it is smarter with all the added driving dynamics trickery. While the Ferrari F8 Tributo seems to be all new, Ferrari actually used an age-old trick to create it. It has the engine we all know, aerodynamic systems already presented on the 488 Pista, and the basic looks heavily inspired by Historical Ferraris. It is a wonderful execution of style, speed, power, and red because of course it is painted in Ferrari red. Hell, this is the new mid-engine Ferrari supercar called the F8 Tributo. This is what you must know about it.

The 2020 Ferrari F8 Tributo Joins Ferrari’s Lineup as a Successor to the 488

The F8 Tributo’s performance is almost on par with the hot 488 Pista track-focused special

While some suggested Ferrari might give us a first glance at its upcoming SUV, it turns out that the other rumor - the one that said Ferrari was set to show off a successor to the 488 GTB - stood true. Meet the 2020 Ferrari F8 Tributo, an evolution of the 488 GTB with noticeably better performance and plenty of additional enhancements.

The Ferrari F8 is a mid-engine sports car that was introduced in 2019 at the Geneva Motor Show as a 2020 model. It serves as a successor to the Ferrari 488 that was sold from 2015 to 2019. But it happens to feature the same 3.9-liter, twin-turbo, V-8 that powered the 488 Pista that was introduced in 2018 as a more capable model of the 488 GTB. The Ferrari F8 was introduced as the Tributo and sends 710 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque to the ground through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. It can hit 62 mph in 2.9 seconds (just as fast as the front-engined, 812 Superfast) and 124 mph in as fast as 7.6 seconds. Top speed is 211 mph. Compared to the 488 GTB, the F8 Tributo has 15-percent more downforce thanks to revised aerodynamics despite the fact that it does look similar to the 488.

At the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show, Ferarri introduced the F8 Spider, a topless version of the Tributo coupe. Its major claim to fame is that it’s lighter and more powerful than the 488 spider that it succeeds. It features the same 3.9-liter V-8 under the skin and can hit 60 mph in 2.9 seconds, just a shade slower than the Tributo coupe. With the F8 Tributo hitting the wallet for a minimum of $274,280, the F8 spider should cost in the low $300,000 range before options which could, not surprisingly, increase the entry-level price substantially. The F8 Tributo is on sale as of 2019, but the F8 Spider won’t go on sale until sometime in late 2019 or early 2020.
