Ram brings a solid fight to GM and Ford
The 2019 Ram 1500 is completely new from the tow hooks to the hitch and wears a new design that departs from the iconic crosshair grille of the last 25 years. It rides on an all-new frame that’s lighter and stronger, boasts a new interior that’s far more user-friendly and luxurious, and has a new mild hybrid system on both its 3.6-liter V-6 and 5.7-liter Hemi V-8.
The truck moves into its fifth generation for 2019 and doubles down on every major selling point in a bid to win market share from Ford and General Motors. Weight has been reduced by 225 pounds, the frame is built from 98 percent high-strength steel for increased payload and towing, and the segment’s first-ever deployable front air dam will work in conjunction with the mild hybrid systems to improve fuel economy. Ram will continue offering its popular 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6, too, but with more power and torque.
The Ram Rebel returns, as well, but with more off-road equipment and twice the attitude. The other familiar trims include the Tradesman, Big Horn, Laramie, Laramie Longhorn, and Limited.
While pricing hasn’t been announced, the 2019 Ram 1500 will arrive in showrooms by the end of Q1 of 2018. That means we don’t have long to wait.

Not to mention, there were the ‘Built to Serve’ Edition 1500s that came out in five phases, with the latest one coming out earlier this year.
Now, the Ram introduced three new special edition trucks at the ongoing State Fair of Texas. One of the three is based on the Ram 1500 TRX and it is a homecoming of sorts for the truck as the automaker unveiled the TRX Concept five years back at the same event. The other two special editions are based on the Longhorn and the Limited trims. The changes on all three are purely aesthetic and come with no upgrades or updates under the hood.

Ram officially announced the electric 1500 a couple of weeks back without a whole lot of details. Ram’s parent company, Stellantis, celebrated an EV Day earlier this month wherein announced EVs from Dodge and Jeep, and of course, Ram. The 1500 EV’s production is slated to commence in 2024, but this could give it an edge over its rivals – which arrive earlier – as Ram can study the market better and come up with a well-rounded product right from the launch.
In fact, Ram also resonates with this and is confident of coming up with a truck that will be better than the Ford F-150 Lightning and the electric Chevy Silverado. The company’s brand marketing head noted that the electric 1500 won’t be a compromise. Well, if it’s arriving that late, we really hope it won’t in any aspect.

For very many years, the Ford F-150 Raptor was the only off-road standalone model you could get straight from the factory. Ram, however, decided to come up with a rival for it and announced its intention by coming up with a concept performance off-road truck in 2016 called the TRX. Pretty much everything we saw there made it to the production version as well.
Fast forward to 2020, Ram launched the TRX as a Raptor-killer by upping the ante in almost every single department. The TRX was introduced with a supercharged V-8 that makes over 700 horses, impressive off-road equipment and specs, and an uber-premium cabin. Given all the bells and whistles Ram offered, there was no way this was going to be an inexpensive truck. Ram priced it at $69,000 at launch in the ‘base’ form. At that time, it was clearly positioned above the Raptor as they both had a significant price difference.

Ram’s Electric 1500 Pickup Will Arrive Late, But That Could Give It An Edge Over Ford and Chevy
After Ford brought in the F-150 Lightning and Chevy announced the electric Silverado, the only one remaining was Ram. Now, the Stellantis brand has also officially confirmed a battery-electric 1500 truck to take the three-way war to electrifying levels. The auto group celebrated an EV Day, wherein three of its brands – Dodge, Jeep, and Ram – had some big announcements. While Dodge stole the limelight with its Muscle EV news, Jeep and Ram tried to hog some attention with the Grand Cherokee 4xe and the 1500 BEV.
The Ram 1500 BEV is a long time away, with production slated to begin in 2024. But, it is still good news, and the automaker will hope to replicate its recent truck success in the EV arena, too.
2022 Ram 1500 Laramie G/T and Rebel G/T
Ram is going through a purple patch right now and it doesn’t want to take its foot off the gas pedal. After beating the Chevy Silverado and the Ford F Series in the second-quarter sales this year, Ram is keeping the ball rolling by adding spice to its arsenal. The automaker launched the 1500 Limited 10th Anniversary edition earlier this month and has now come up with a couple more special edition trucks. This time, they’re based on the Laramie and Rebel models.
Ram has introduced G/T models for the 1500 Laramie and the 1500 Rebel that come with aesthetic upgrades and an updated exhaust system. They are priced at a premium over the standard models and will be available within the next couple of months.

Mopar Officially Launches Aftermarket Accessories For The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX

Pickup trucks have been around for ages now. Even after being thoroughly abused, these workhorses refused to die. 2020 Ram 1500 Built to Serve Edition
RAM’s penchant for rolling out special edition trucks has paved the way for the truck brand to introduce a new run of special edition models that pay tribute to the five branches of the United States military. The special edition trucks fall under the RAM 1500 Built To Serve Edition name. Each of the five armed services — Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Marines — will receive their own special edition treatment. Aftermarket companies love SEMA. It is the one hot spot that garners attention from all over the world and allows aftermarket companies to highlight their creations without worrying about automakers stealing the limelight. Companies in this segment generally tend to have many diesel engine options and from the looks of it, there’s no stopping yet. On that note, Ram has launched its third-gen EcoDiesel engine in the 2020 Ram 1500 pickup trucks. This engine will be available across the stable in all configurations, but does it get any better than the second-generation EcoDiesel?

Ram was one of the first automakers to venture into the performance pick-up truck niche. Back when trucks were used for hauling cargo and were meant solely for utility, Ram decided to do something different and create a segment that perhaps didn’t even exist. Nevertheless, it intrigued the minds of enthusiasts, which in turn created an avenue for other automakers to throw in their hat and see how they fared. Fast-forward to 2019, and we can see Ram pushing its Rebel TRX through the sand dunes in this video.
Ram had to keep up with Ford and Chevy, so the time came to give the Ram 1500 a very serious update. And, a serious update is exactly what it got. And, when we say full update, we mean it is all-new with a new frame, new grille, and a completely revised interior, among other things. The fifth-gen model brings together every major selling point the truck has ever had in the best way yet it’s lighter than ever. Even the EcoDiesel V-6 got an update to deliver more power and torque while the truck can even be had with a deployable front air dam and a mild-hybrid drive system. Elon Musk is no stranger to making outrageous claims on his Twitter account. True or not, the Tesla CEO also doesn’t hold back from engaging other Twitter users in colorful dialogue. One user who proudly displays his affection for the Dodge Ram found that out the hard way when he threw the Ram’ 1500’s 12,000-pound towing capacity right in the direction of Musk and his Twitter account. In true Musk fashion, he responded the only way Elon Musk knows how to respond, putting “Dodge Ram Owner” in his place by thumbing his nose down the towing and hauling abilities of Motor Trend’s 2019 Truck of the Year.

The more utility you can add to a pickup, the better it becomes. That’s a given, but how do you improve on the formula? It seems as though GMC found a way with its Multipro Tailgate and 2019 Sierra, which offers multiple configurations for improved access to the box, extended holding capacity, and a second-tier loading height. Now Ram is getting in on the action with its own take on the configurable tailgate concept, offering up something it’s calling the Multifunction Tailgate on all seven trim levels of the 2019 Ram 1500. Granted, GMC was the first in this space, but we think Ram might have the better tailgate this time around.

Ram just dropped the new fifth-generation 1500 pickup truck for the 2019 model year, and it’s looking better than ever. Redesigned from the ground up, the 1500 once again hits dealers in a number of different trim levels and configurations. Higher in the range, the pickup can be had in all manner of upscale luxury and features, but the Big Horn, offered as the second model above the entry-level Tradesman, offers everything you need and nothing you don’t. Aznom Automotive has come up with a doozy of a creation. Using a Ram 1500 as a base vehicle, the Italian coachbuilder has transformed what is a capable pickup truck into something straight out of the Black Mirror. The creation still wears the face of a Ram 1500, but the vehicle’s profile is anything but a pickup. Instead, it’s been transformed into a cross between a pickup and a sedan, a “pick-dan” for lack of a better — and far more sensible — term. The monstrosity carries the name Atulux, which literally stands for “All-Terrain Utility Luxury.” Best have a strong stomach for this one because, in addition to looking the way it does, it also costs more than $250,000, or roughly the equivalent of a fleet of actual Ram 1500s.

2018 has been a big sales year for automakers in the U.S. From January to October 2018, car sales in the U.S. have reached 14,262,604 sold units. That represents a 0.2 percent increase in total sales compared to the first ten months of 2017. If you take it from that perspective, Americans are buying more vehicles this year than they did last year. But there are a lot of pieces involve in this numbers, too. These pieces paint a more accurate picture of the automotive landscape in the U.S. in 2018. Sales of light trucks — these include SUVs and pickups are up 8.3 percent compared to their sales numbers from January to October 2017.
On the other hand, sales of passenger vehicles, including sedans, are down 13.3 percent in the same period. This tells us that more and more American buyers are buying SUVs and pickups compared to sedans. It’s no surprise, then, that when we compiled the top 10 list of best-selling vehicles in the U.S. in the first ten months of the year, the upper half of that list was dominated by, you guessed it, pickups and SUVs.

2018 Ram 1500 Big Horn Low Down Concept
The 2018 SEMA Auto Show played host to a pair of custom-tuned Ram 1500 pickup trucks, including one that goes by the name “Low Down.” Based on the 1500 Big Horn trim level, the Low Down is what happens when you raid Mopar’s parts bin for equipment that can be used to give the 1500 Big Horn a more “slammed-to-the-streets” styling direction. It doesn’t do anything to emphasize the 1500 Big Horn’s masculinity, but it does give it a new urban look that plays well in the underground street racer culture. All it needs is a little nitro boost — perhaps machine guns, too? — and it’ll fit right into the kind of cars you normally see in the Fast and Furious franchise.
