Ex-MotoGP and World Superbike racer Max Biaggi swung a leg over the Voxan Wattman once again to smash his own record of 253mph, this time running in America

After setting eleven world records in 2020, Voxan has continued developing the Wattman electric record motorcycle and will try for more records with ex-MotoGP star Max Biaggi at the helm once again.

Never on to shy away from a challenge, Guy Martin is working with a team of engineers to break the existing motorcycle land speed record, which stands at 376mph. Initial shake-down runs have gone well.https://rkpphotography.co.uk

When the Kawasaki H2R came out, the makers claimed a top speed of 380km/h (236mph). World Supersport champion Keenan Sofuoglu reckoned he could get 400km/h out of one. Here’s his attempt.

Craig Breedlove’s 1963 land speed record attempt in Spirit of America resulted in a new record of 407.45mph. However, FIA rules at the time stated that a vehicle had to have four wheels, with at least two being driven. As Sprit of America was a thrust-driven vehicle and ran on three wheels, it was classed as a motorcycle.

Details of a new Australian motorcycle land speed record contender have come to light on social media. The product of a collaboration between three Australian engineering and motorcycle firms, it will use a radical new radial three-cylinder engine. The team hopes to achieve 200mph at the Speed Week at Lake Gairdner in 2022.

Electric-motorcycle brand Voxan under the Venturi umbrella sets its sights on a world electric-motorcycle speed record in Bolivia. Slated for a run in August 2020 on the Voxan Wattman, world champion motorcycle racer Max Biaggi was in Monaco taking part in ergonomics testing and 3D scans in preparation for what could be a historic milestone for Voxan and electric motorcycles. Biaggi will attempt to best the current record of 203.58 mph.

Another distillery owner has gone ahead and broken a world record with his alcohol powered motorcycle, this time, it with the Russian favorites, Vodka. The bike running on this elixir - a custom 1980 Yamaha XS850 and it an impressive 113 mph at Utah’s Bonneville Salt Flats Motorcycle Speed Trials on August 26.

Driving the Indian “Spirit of Munro 50th anniversary 2017 Indian Scout” Lee Muro and the team were attempting to crack the 200mph at the Bonneville Salt Flats during the Speed Week earlier this month, for the second time.

Unfortunately, mechanical failures threw both the bike and the rider out of the race and left Lee with some pretty bad burns on his leg that were unable to have recovered. The current record by the Spirit of Munro is 191.286 mph recorded at the previous year’s Speed Week.

Kawasaki took its Team 38 racing team, and the modded Ninja H2 to a place where the automobile is king and speed is the one true god. A piece of land bordered by mountains, and crusted in fine white granules of salt - The Bonneville Salt Flats International Speedway.

The team has set a new world record for being the fastest Ninja H2 with the official figure of 209 mph. The record run was a part of the Speed Week from August 11th to the 18th, 2018, the same time where speed junkies from all over the world will land on this 10 mile stretch in the pursuit of holding the title for the fastest man and machine.

In a huge salute to all women riders across the globe, Erin Sills with her team TOP 1 Oil and Hunter Sills Racing (HSR) broke a land-speed record for the World’s Fastest BMW Motorcycle previously held by none other than Erin Still’s late husband, Andy Sills, who set the record at the Bonneville Salt Flats in 2013.

Setting a new FIM world record of 229.266 mph, Erin Stills rode on a near-production BMW S1000 RR with aerodynamic aids and engine mods, but still a naturally aspirated machine at the ‘Cook Top of the World Shootout’. She overshot her late husband’s record by eight miles per hour.

Half a century ago, one man from a small town in New Zealand dreamt of setting a land speed record on a 1920 Indian Scout. In 1962 at the Bonneville Salt Flats, Burt Munro’s dream finally came true at the age of 68 and 184.71 mph. This number was finally crossed by Indian on July 16 at the El Mirage 2017 by none other than Burt’s nephew who drove the 2017 Spirit of Munro Scout at 186.41 mph in the MPS-G (Modified Partial Streamliner) 1350 cc class. (Since Burt’s record was on an SA 1000cc class, his record still stands unbeaten in that class.)

The Spirit of Munro Scout bike will undergo small modifications to the intake and fueling while the streamlined body will have minor body adjustments.
