In the 1960s, Batman and Robin thrilled TV audiences in their fight against the evil of Gotham City. With the help of various ingenious cars, boats and ’copters, they took on the likes of the Joker, the Penguin and the Riddler. Now, a replica Batcycle is up for auction.

Motorcycles with back-stories are highly sought after and the Triumph that the Fonz rode in TV series Happy Days is no exception. Recently sold at auction, it fetched nearly twice is pre-auction estimate.

A Triumph Bonneville T120R once owned by famed stuntman Bud Ekins and subsequently by Steve McQueen’s Solar Productions is up for auction this month. Ekins was one of the highest profile stuntmen of his time as well as an accomplished and very successful competitor on two wheels. You might have heard of Steve McQueen as well.

Anything with Steve McQueen’s name attached to it will always add a couple of zeros to the asking price. This 1970 Solex was used by McQueen on the set of the movie ’Le Mans’ and is now up for auction with an estimated price of $40-50,000. Would you be tempted?

Steve McQueen played a big part in establishing the Husqvarna brand in the U.S. His first Husky was bought after seeing Swedish World Champion Bengt Åberg racing his Viking 360. McQueen bought it there and then and it remained in his collection until his death in 1980. Now, it’s up for auction in August.

Auction house H&H Classics had put up the sale of their acquired 1969 Honda Z50A. A bike that was once used by John Lennon, the legendary English singer, songwriter, musician, and peace activist who also co-founded the Beatles, the most commercially successful band in the history of popular music.

The auction was recently held at the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull, a town in the West Midlands of England. Experts believed the bike will fetch at least £30,000 (more than $40,000), but to everyone’s surprise, the winning bid was almost twice of the estimated price, at £57,500 (about $79,600).
