Carwow has been synonymous with staging some of the most exciting drag races, more often than not, between stock, production cars. However, the same YouTube channel, occasionally gives us a proper comparison between two high-performance vehicles – in this case, the new BMW M3 Competition and Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio GTAm.

Having a plethora of pixel artists that showcase their visions of future cars is tremendous. This is especially true for classic cars that need to have a modern-day successor. The 1970-1977 Alfa Romeo Montreal is one of those cars and recently, the YouTube channel, NewCarDesign has given us a rendering of what a new model could look like.

Alfa Romeo was supposed to launch the Tonale SUV – a production vehicle based on the 2019 Tonale Concept – but that has yet to happen. In fact, it’s now scheduled to launch in June of 2022, more than a year late. In fact, out of Alfa’s plan to launch a new model every year until 2026 we’ve seen exactly nothing. The company did update the Stelvio and Giulia for 2022, so it has that going for it, but it’s pretty clear that the company is still feeling the pain of its everlasting struggle to try to remain relevant. Despite the fact that the company can’t even get the Tonale to the market, it’s still hopeful a third, smaller SUV can happen.

Alfa Romeo resurrected the Giulia name back in 2015 and it immediately became a serious contender in its segment. Of course, the top of the cherry was the Quadrofoglio (QV), which was only recently overshadowed by the track-focused Giulia GTAm. But what happens if you want the QV’s usability with performance greater than that of the GTAm? Manhart came up with a solution in the form of the Alfa Romeo Giulia QV 600.

Alfa Romeo’s performance SUV gets going without any generational upgrades but a few more standard driver assistance features and the introduction of new trim. Other standard convenience features addition include a wireless charging pad, heated front, and rear seats, and a few more.

The Giulia, is a well-known sports sedan from the house of Alfa Romeo that does not fit in a category the Germans ace in. It is a lot different with its sexy Italian looks, performance, and handling capabilities that can take the enthusiast inside of you to another zone. With the 2022 model year, Alfa Romeo did a few tweaks in the exterior with the new Veloce trim, and other than that, there are a few feature updates as well. Speaking of the competition, we cannot think of others apart from the Audi A5 Sportback, Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan, and the BMW 3 Series. Alfa Romeo may be in a tough position, but there’s no denying the company gave us some pretty good models in recent times. Under Stellantis’ banner, the brand is planned to become a global premium brand – something that starts with Alfa Romeo’s gradual transition to electrification, said to happen in 2027. Meanwhile, one of their most important models – the Giulia – is getting refreshed for the 2022 model year. The Italian sporty sedan has already proven a worthy alternative in the segment, and 2022 will see an updated version of it.

It seems Alfa Romeo is one of those brands that refuse to step away from traditions and move on with the times. Over the last decade or so, the Italian company has come up with some great models, but their business strategy hasn’t been what you would call sustainable. However, this may be about to change, as the Italian car company recently stated that we will be getting a new model every year until 2026, and from 2027 onwards, all models of the brand will be electrified.

Back in September 2021, Alfa Romeo announced the special editions Giulia and Stelvio ’6C Villa d’Este.’ The two models paid tribute to the 6C 2500 SS Coupé produced by Alfa Romeo in the 1940s. Now, a month later, the Italian company announced the Giulia and Stelvio GT Junior - two special edition models that pay tribute to the GT 1300 Junior - a very successful Alfa Romeo model built between 1966 and 1976.

At some point, you almost have to feel bad for Alfa Romeo. Despite having some pretty cool cars, a blend of bad decisions and a tainted perception of reliability has put the brand in a position where it would almost make more sense to kill it than try to bring it back to profitability. Fortunately, the brand isn’t done just yet, and a heap of new models between now and 2026 could be exactly what the company needs to bounce back. Still, at the same time, one can’t help but wonder: Is this the beginning of the end for Alfa Romeo?

Totem Automobili has produced a second Restomod of the historic Alfa Romeo Giulia GT, this time with a more traditional twin-turbo V-6 gasoline engine from the current Alfa Romeo GTA.

I have to admit: when I saw the Tonale Concept at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show I was impressed. It kind of looked like the Stelvio, but it was a lot sportier. It was proof that Alfa Romeo can significantly improve its SUV look.

And when Alfa Romeo announced a production version should follow shortly, I was even more stocked. Problems though came shortly after the announcement. Jean-Philippe Imparato was unhappy with the performances offered by the plug-in hybrid system and decided to delay the launch of the production version Tonale. The merge between FAC and PSAdelayed the Tonale even more. But, all those problems are now solved and the Tonale is back on track! An official debut should happen sometime in 2022, and it will be built at the Stellantis plant in Pomigliano d’Arco.

The European Union’s comprehensive ban on combustion engines is set to go into force in 2035, but the Italian government is hoping for an exception for supercar makers. Italy is trying to negotiate with the European Union and is seeking to protect supercar makers like Ferrari and Lamborghini from the planned phase-out of combustion engine vehicles altogether. According to a Bloomberg post, Italy wants to shield Ferrari and Lamborghini from this potential European Union ban on gas-powered engines.

The ‘Carwow’ team brought four performance SUVs to the drag strip for a series of straight-line races. The contenders include a Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S, a BMW X3 M Competition, an Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio, and a Jaguar F-Pace SVR. Three of the four SUVs make identical 510 horses, whereas the Jaguar trumps them all with 40 extra ponies. But, it is also the heaviest. Does it nullify Jaguar’s advantage?

Alfa Romeo announced the new Giulia and Stelvio ‘6C Villa d’Este’ - two editions built on the maker’s priceless heritage. Both models are a tribute to the 6C 2500 SS Coupé model produced by Alfa Romeo in the 1940s - a model that won the "“Referendum Grand Prix" prize during the 1949 edition of the Concorso d’Eleganza di Villa d’Este.
