The Volkswagen Passat isn’t as dead as the media would lead you to believe, and the Aero B – a Passat-sized EV – isn’t going to replace it right away. In fact, the ICE-powered Passat will see one more generational shift that should keep it on the market, at least in some places, until the end of the decade. At that point, it will probably be replaced by the second-generation Aero B, but that’s still 8 years from now and we’re getting ahead of ourselves, so let’s take a look at these new spy shots of the Volkswagen Aero B.

If there’s one brand that’s catapulted EV ambitions within the Volkswagen Group, it has to be Porsche. While Audi may have been the first to bring their e-Tron to market, it wasn’t until the Taycan came along that several brands within the VW Group started making the shift to electric mobility.

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS is arguably one of the best internal combustion-engined cars on the drag strip. It has even beaten the likes of the Audi R8 Spyder. So, why even bother to put it up against an old-school, 1970s Volkswagen Beetle? Well, because this Beetle has been electrified and makes 450 horses! Volkswagen continues to diversify its EV (and ID) portfolio with the new ID.5 electric crossover. Available at launch in two different trims – GTX and Standard – and with your choice of three different powertrain options, the ID.5 comes to fill the need of both families and enthusiasts alike. Does it look a lot like the ID.4? Well, that’s probably because it’s basically an ID.4 with a coupe-like roof, so there’s a lot of shared DNA here. What’s below the skin of the ID.5? More than you think.

Volkswagen was supposed to debut the ID.5 GTX at the 2021 IAA Mobility Show in Munich, but canceled it at the last minute. We saw a camouflaged version ahead of the show which didn’t hide much of the styling cues, but it was still with some skin. Now, the coupe-version of the ID.4 was recently spotted stretching its legs at the Nürburgring without nearly any camouflage this time.

With a history of six years, the Rebelle Rally is a competition for women, but is nowhere near an easy one. A pair consisting of a driver and a navigator need to use their skills, navigation tools, and limited supplies across 1,400 miles through the deserts of Nevada and California.

And, this year’s competition will see the entry of the Volkswagen ID.4 AWD Pro electric SUV. It will be driven by Mercedes Lilienthal, with Emily Winslow being the navigator. The competition will take place from October 7–16, 2021.

It looks like the last hour has come for the manual transmission at Volkswagen. Since VW is basically on the road to electro-mobility and is saying goodbye to the combustion engine, it is also inadvertently saying goodbye to the manual transmission.

Recently unveiled by Volkswagen, The I.D. LIFE Concept is said to be the company’s first “people’s car” as an EV. The IAA 2021 in Munich has opened eyes around the world as there were quite a lot of unique cars, especially EVs. This compact crossover-type concept looks sick with unique design language both in exterior and interior and has quite a few interesting facts about it. Volkswagen has a plan to slap its EV performance badge – aka GTX – on every single model in its electric fleet. This means that everything from compact cars to sedans and SUVs will all be offered with a higher level performance in their top trims. Thanks to Volkswagen’s CEO, Ralf Brandstätter, we might know what the brand’s first hot hatch will be, and it’s not what you’re thinking….or maybe it is.

Volkswagen recently announced the ID.4 GTX. With it, the German brand announced the beginning of its sporty EV lineup. What’s more important, however, is that during that same presentation, the new ID.5 was shown for the first time and with it, an ID.5 GTX was confirmed. This is the latest vehicle to utilize VW’s MEB platform for EVs. Moreover, the ID.5 will be a sleeker version of the ID.4. Think of it as an ID.4 Coupe.

In case you haven’t noticed, outside of a few entry-level cars like the Hyundai Kona EV and Chevy Bolt, for example, electric cars are pretty fast. And the cost to make even an entry-level EV fast isn’t all that high. EVs are opening the door for automakers to expand their performance lineups exponentially, and Volkswagen will be one of the first as the GTX badge be slapped onto an entire fleet of high-performance EVs. So, which model will we see next?

Volkswagen has decided to step on the gas (pun unintended) and launch a new range of performance EVs with the ‘GTX’ badge. The automaker has introduced its first car under this series based on the ID.4 called the ID.4 GTX. The EV comes with significant performance upgrades over the standard model and also comes with some aesthetic changes. An additional motor, enhanced power outputs, and new headlight detailing are some of the differences here. The performance, however, comes at the cost of the range since Volkswagen has made use of the same battery pack as the standard ID.4. What is more important to you?
