Every 2020 Superbowl LIV Car Commercial We've Found

Every 2020 Superbowl LIV Car Commercial We’ve Found

Even if you’re not into football, there’s one thing we can all agree on – the Superbowl usually hosts some pretty awesome car commercials. While there are plenty of commercials during the big game (they cost huge money, by the way) none of the companies that partake in the advertising craze seem to be as competitive as automotive companies. It’s almost like there’s a constant battle for all of them to one-up each other, and it ends up being pretty awesome for the rest of us.

It’s not often that advertisements come off as something we’re excited about, but this is one of those cases. So, with the big game just days away (kickoff happens on February 2,) we thought we’d compile all of the Superbowl LIV commercials released thus far. This includes commercials from Hyundai, Audi, Genesis, Kia, and – believe it or not – Porsche. The latter on that list hasn’t advertised during the big game in decades, so that’s kind of a big deal. Anyway, go ahead and scroll on down to get a sneak peak at Superbowl LIV’s car commercials.

Throwback: Crossfit Santa Gets a New Ride This Christmas

Jingle Bells Get Replaced By Four Rings

Christmas is just round the corner and we can see a lot of holiday-themed commercials on television and over the internet. In fact, even automakers get creative during this season and some of them stand out. This particular video by Audi is here to put people into a festive mood by featuring a crowd-pulling celeb – Santa Claus.

Audi’s Cashew Commercial for the 2019 Super Bowl Gives Us a Look at the E-Tron GT

Slow down, chew your food

Super Bowl LIII is kicking off this weekend, and with it a long list of fresh commercials. Audi’s getting in on the action with a commercial it’s calling “Cashew,” featuring the German automaker’s latest and greatest all-electric concept car.

Updated 03/01/2019: The original post erroneously identified the "chest thurst" first-aid technique performed during the ad as a "Heimlich maneuver." The reference has been deleted.

Audi Wants to Electrify You With Its Super Bowl LIII Commercial

Audi Wants to Electrify You With Its Super Bowl LIII Commercial

All signs point to Audi’s electrified future as the crux of the company’s Super Bowl LIII ad

For the 10th time in the history of Super Bowl commercials, Audi is joining in on the fun with a 60-second commercial that will air during the second quarter of Super Bowl LIII. The game, which is scheduled for February 3, 2019, is typically defined for the commercials that run during the game as much as the game itself. This year, Audi’s message revolves around electrification, specifically the arrivals of a number of electrified e-Tron models, including the e-Tron SUV and the e-Tron Sportback. A handful of Audi’s electric concepts — the e-Tron GT Concept and the Elaine Concept — are also expected to feature in the 60-second spot.

This Audi Christmas Ad Is The Best Thing You'll Watch This Holiday Season

This Audi Christmas Ad Is The Best Thing You’ll Watch This Holiday Season

Let’s watch this ad while getting an egg-nog moustache!

Christmas is almost here, and automakers are rolling out holiday-themed commercials for the public. Although the main motive is to market the brand and the cars (obviously!), there are a few commercials which we remember for much longer. One such commercial, which is one of my all-time favorites, is this one by Audi for Christmas 2017 that features the RS3 and the RS7.

Audi Shows Serious Side With New Super Bowl Commercial

Audi Shows Serious Side With New Super Bowl Commercial

German automaker promotes equal rights over the S5 Sportback

Super Bowl LI is only four days away and as the days count down to the Big Game, we’re already seeing a rush of commercial releases from some of the biggest automakers in the world. Buick just released its new ad for the Cascada and Encore SUV. Lexus and Kia rolled out their ads a week ago, although the latter only released a short teaser of its full ad for Sunday. Then there’s Audi, whose commercials have been staples during the Super Bowl. The German automaker is once again making its presence felt for Super Bowl LI with a new commercial for the S5 Sportback that doesn’t really do much in highlighting the car.

The 60-second clip is called Daughters and unlike the celebrity routes that companies like Kia and Buick went to this year, Audi kept its ad close to the chest with a poignant message about gender equality among millions of people. It’s a curious choice to make, but Audi hasn’t been in shy using Super Bowl commercials to address social or civic issues in the past, so there’s a precedent there for the company to take this approach on Daughters.

The ad itself focuses on a young girl competing in a soap box derby against a group of boys as her father serves as the de facto narrator. Despite being subjected to underhanded tricks and all around mischief from her competitors, the young girl perseveres to take home the victory.

All the while, the father laments on the issues that his young daughter could face when she grows up in a world that still hasn’t embraced equality the way it should. But as the ad ends, his tone shifts to a more positive one as he starts hoping for a better world for his young daughter.

And, just as the ad ends, the S5 Sportback finally makes a quick cameo before the screen fades to black and Audi’s message of commitment “to equal pay for equal work” flashes on the screen.

Audi Drops "The Commander" Commercial For Super Bowl 50

Audi Drops "The Commander" Commercial For Super Bowl 50

Audi R8 set to make second Super Bowl appearance

Audi has been a consistent presence in the Super Bowl, having shown seven commercials in the past games. One of those commercials occurred during Super Bowl XLII, when the New York Giants ended the New England Patriots’ undefeated season. The athletics aside, Audi remembers that game for an entirely different reason. That was the day it aired a commercial featuring the first generation Audi R8, the car that jump started the brand’s incredible sales growth in the U.S.

Eight years later and the German automaker has found itself in an oddly familiar position as it returns for its eighth go-round in the Super Bowl with a new 60-second commercial that features the all-new Audi R8 V10 Plus. The commercial is called “The Commander” and tells the story of a retired astronaut that has lost purpose in his life. He just sits blankly in his chair as he reflects on the memories he experienced in his old line of work. It isn’t until his son arrives that he stirs back to reality after Junior hands over the keys to the new R8 V10 Plus. And just like that, the thrill and excitement of adventures come rushing back in as he gets behind the wheel of the Audi and rockets out into the night.

Unlike the goofy approach that defined the “Godfather” commercial back in 2008, “The Commander” is a lot mellower, playing to the emotional attachment we all have for the things that give our lives purpose. When it’s lost, it’s hard to get it back. But that’s exactly what Audi’s message is for the new R8. It’s the kind of car that’s going to bring some life back to those veins, just the way it did for the Commander.

Audi "The Forecast" Commercial: Video

Audi "The Forecast" Commercial: Video

’Tis the season for heartstrings to be pulled, and Audi is no exception. The all-wheel drive specialist lives for bad weather in the wintertime, and highlights the virtues of its quattro all-wheel drive system in a new television ad entitled "Forecast."

The well-produced extended-cut ad seems like it might be more at home occupying a pricey Superbowl ad slot. It’s a refreshing contrast to the usual flurry of manufacturer’s ads showing cars with giant gift bows on them, not-so-subtly hinting that your loved one would appreciate a Lexus or a Lincoln under the tree. "Forecast" is one of those ads that lets the product sell itself. In fact, there’s no hard sell at all, and most of the screen time is devoted to a lonesome patriarch and his dog who are facing the prospect of a solitary holiday thanks to an unexpected blizzard.

You can probably guess the rest. Check out Audi’s Christmas "Forecast," and don’t worry, we’re sure it’s just the onions someone was chopping in the next room that have gotten into your eyes.

Audi Debuts Organic LED Lights At Frankfurt: Video

Audi Debuts Organic LED Lights At Frankfurt: Video

It seems that just about every car offers some sort of exterior LED lighting these days, and the trick laser headlights are already on the roads in Europe, but Audi is getting ready to debut an even more advanced lighting technology this fall at the Frankfurt Motor Show. As the self-proclaimed “leading brand in automotive lighting technology,” Audi will show off its Matrix OLED (organic light emitting diode) lights on a yet-to-be-named concept vehicle, and Audi has released a brief teaser video for the new lights.

Rather than using crystal semiconductors like today’s LED lights, the OLEDs use thin layers of organic semiconductor material just a thousandth of a millimeter thick to produce a lighting element that not only offers unique lighting solutions but also open up new possibilities for vehicle design. The OLEDs debuting in Frankfurt will be for the taillights of the concept, and will have a three-dimensional appearance.

The video gives a brief yet effective lesson on the history of headlights, and it is also a really cool visualization of the recent TopSpeed feature breaking down what types of headlights are best. Just as laser headlights have yet to be approved for use in the U.S., it will be interesting to see how regulators warm up to the idea of these new OLEDs once it comes time for production.

Car Ad Compilation of Super Bowl XLVIII

Car Ad Compilation of Super Bowl XLVIII

Super Bowl XLVIII ended with tears for some fans and with joy for others, and the tears were especially salty, considering the huge difference in score, as the Sehawks gave the Broncos quite a whooping 43-8. On a good note, at least there were some cool car commercials to enjoy during this total blowout.

Just like with the game, we had some winners and some looser. Commercials like Budweiser’s "Puppy Love" Jerry Seinfeld’s Reunion/Crackle received rave reviews and millions of views online, but we’re more interested in what happened in the automotive section.

Many consider Audi hit a home run with its "Doberhuahua" commercial, while Maserati’s "Strike" or Chevrolet’s "Romance" were total failures, but what do you think? In your opinion, which ad was the best this year?

In my humble opinion, I found Volkswagen’s "Wings" the funniest one of the year. As for the stinker of the year, I have to vote for Chevrolet’s "Romance" ad, as it seemed nearly pointless.

Super Bowl XLVIII Ad: Audi 2014 Big Game Commercial - Doberhuahua

Super Bowl XLVIII Ad: Audi 2014 Big Game Commercial - Doberhuahua

Remember the Doberhuahua teaser video that Audi released a few days ago? Well, after just three days, Audi decided to release the full commercial and explain what that strange-looking dog — the Doberhuahua — was all about.

Apparently this Doberhuahua is a never-before-seen creature that reveals the frightening consequences of bringing compromise and try to mix two dogs: a doberman and a chihuahua.

Of course, the reasoning behind showing us this was that Audi wanted to highlight its new A3 Sedan and celebrate the uncompromised spirit that led to the A3’s unrivaled technology and performance.

Watch the spot to see why the most exceptionally engineered vehicles never come from compromise and to get another look at that odd-looking Doberhuahua that Audi made up.

Shortly after the Super Bowl, the new A3 sedan will be put on sale at a starting price of $29,900.
