LISTEN 02:34

Next to the 2022 SR10, Radical Sportscars is also updating the 2022 SR3 XX - the first production race car to be offered with AiM’s new solid-state technology. After being launched for the first time back in May 2020, the SR3 XX is updated for the 2022 model year with a ’halo’ head protector designed in to FIA specifications. There are also a few other new safety features, more standard and optional equipment, and enhanced cockpit ergonomics. Both the SR10 and the SX3 XX will be offered as part of Radical’s 25th anniversary and are now available for order. Deliveries will start in the first quarter of 2022.

For the 2022 SR3 XX, Radical Sportscars worked on improving the car’s safety features. The model is now equipped with new cast uprights for greater durability and a longer service life. Just like the SR10, the SR3 XX will be offered with updated suspensions, with new camber shims that will make it easier for customers to adjust the car’s height.

Also, Radical will equip the SR3 XX for the first time with a halo - a safety structure that sit above the driver’s head to protect from impact.

For the interior, the SR3 XX will be equipped with a new raised steering column to aid ergonomics and improve driver visibility, an optional power steering upgrade, and a larger driver’s seat for the center drive configuration.

Under the hood, the SR3 XX will keep the same engines as before. Customers can choose between 1340 cc or 1500 cc four-cylinder RPE-Suzuki engines and a six-speed sequential gearbox with paddle shift and Quaife limited-slip differential.

Dan Redpath, Group Sales and Marketing Director said: “The halo is one of the biggest developments in Radical’s history, and we have taken inspiration from the technology in motorsport which we’ve seen work so effectively on many occasions and appropriated it to SR3 XX and SR10. We have been delighted with the incredibly strong demand since launching SR3 XX and SR10, and expect the 2022 updates to maintain the strong order bank.”
