It features red brake calipers and the typical Trofeo exhausts

A few days ago our spy photographers caught the upcoming Maserati Grecale Trofeo out for a testing session dressed in red camouflage, just in time for Christmas. Now, the car dropped the red camouflage and continues its testing session in North Europe under extremely cold conditions.

Unlike the previous prototypes caught testing, this one is wearing the typical Trofeo exhausts and is equipped with red brake calipers. The car is still heavily camouflaged, so it is difficult to say how the next Grecale Trofeo will look like, but we do expect it to get the same Trofeo treatment as all the other cars in the lineup.

Following the footsteps of the Levante Trofeo, you should expect the Grecale Trofeo to feature a more aggressive look, with a redesigned front bumper with three separate outlets, a much bigger, trapezoidal vent in the center apron, and two extra vents on the engine hood.

As for the engine, rumors talk about a few possibilities. One is the 2.9-liter V-6 engine from the Stelvio Quadrifoglio. This engine delivers a total of 505 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque.

There are others rumors talking about the Grecale Trofeo getting the same engine as the Maserati MC20: a 3.0 liter twin-turbo V-6 engine with output slightly detuned from the original 621 horsepower.

We expect to see the standard Grecale sometime in 2022, so the Trofeo version should follow in 2023.
