2021 Shelby F-150

The Shelby F-150 comes with more than 750 horses, an upgraded suspension setup, and aesthetic upgrades inside and out, all for over $100,000

Given the growing popularity of expensive trucks, Shelby has come with an F-150 iteration of its own. It comes with changes inside and out, and also under the hood. The Shelby F-150 now makes close to 800 horses! It also comes with an upgraded suspension setup. If you are disappointed the standard F-150 Raptor didn’t come with a power boost for the 2021 model year and you don’t want to wait for the Raptor R, this will float your boat. The only catch is that it has breached into the six-digit price bracket.

Shelby has taken the 2021 Ford F-150 under its wings and given it a unique twist

The Shelby F-150 starts life as a 2021 Ford F-150 Lariat. Shelby has made a plethora of changes here. Starting from the front, the stock hood is swapped in favor of a dual intake Ram-Air hood with vents. The bumper receives a cover with air vents on it. Even the grille is replaced with a Shelby branded unit.

The truck features fender flares that are painted in body color. Shelby even provided powered side steps with rock guards for extra protection during off-roading. The door handles and the wing mirror caps are finished in the body shade. The aftermarket company has equipped 22-inch Shelby wheels shod in BF Goodrich all-terrain KO2 tires.

Aftermarket companies generally leave interior alterations to customer’s preferences, but not the case here. Shelby has made quite a few changes here. For starters, the seats are now upholstered in two-tone leather recovers and feature embroidered headrests. Since it’s a limited-production kit, it comes with numbered dash plaque.

A carbon-fiber interior package available, in case you’re looking to make your truck even more exclusive.

Here, the supercharger and the intake manifold come powder-coated Ford Racing blue color. You can also continue with the naturally aspirated mill, but the power specs for it are not mentioned.

Regardless of the induction you choose, other things offered as part of the package will be offered as standard. This includes:

  • Performance aluminum heat exchanger
  • High-flow fuel injectors
  • Billet throttle body
  • Performance air intake with high-flow filter
  • Oversized carbon fiber air intake tube

Power is sent to all the wheels via a 10-speed automatic gearbox as standard.

  • Adjustable dual speed controls

A Borla performance exhaust system replaces the standard exhaust setup. This is paired with black dual exhaust tips peeping out of the truck’s derriere.

There’s no word if the towing capacity takes a hit, but the standard 2021 F-150 SuperCrew with a 6.5-foot bed, four-wheel-drive system, and a 5.0-liter V-8 Coyote engine offers 10,300 pounds as standard and 13,000 pounds with the Max Trailer Tow Package.

The biggest difference, of course, is the engine and the power outputs. The 2021 F-150 Raptor comes with a 3.5-liter, twin-turbo V-6 EcoBoost mill that cranks 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. It also comes with a 10-speed automatic gearbox that routes power to all four wheels. The other differentiating things include:

  • Electronic locking rear differential
  • Available Torsen front limited-slip differential with 4:10 final drive ratio
  • Two-speed transfer case
  • Towing Capacity of 8,200 pounds
  • Independent front suspension system
  • New five-link rear suspension setup
  • Panhard rod and 24-inch coil springs
  • 3.1-inch Fox Live Valve dampers
  • Front suspension travel range of 14 inches
  • Rear suspension travel range of 15 inches
  • New equal-length exhaust system
  • With X-pipe and Trombone loop
  • Active valves, Four different sound levels
  • 17-inch wheels
  • 35-inch tires standard, 37-inch optional
  • Recaro bucket seats available
  • 12-inch digital instrument cluster
  • 12-inch touchscreen SYNC4 infotainment system
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa
  • 18-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system

The 2021 F-150 Raptor starts at $65,840 including destination, around $40,000-$50,000 cheaper than the 2021 Shelby F-150. In the latter’s defense, the standard Raptor doesn’t carry the Shelby heritage and neither is it a limited production truck.
