2021 Ferrari Roma Fuego By DMC

An extra 86 horsepower and a carbon-fiber body kit are what the doctor prescribed

When Ferrari launched the Roma back in 2019 we were impressed by its looks. The small front-engined, 2+2 grand tourer based on the Portofino looked like no other Ferrari in the lineup and was ready to take on the competition. If you ask us, the Roma is a supercar that needs no improvement. But of course, there are people out there who do not agree. This is the case with the German tuner DMC who now only improved the looks of the Roma, but also found a way to put more power under the hood.

What changes were made under the hood?

It started with changes under the hood, where it modified the engine management

From factory, the Roma is offered with a twin-turbo 3.9-liter V-8 engine that delivers a total of 612 horsepower and 561 pound-feet of torque. DMC however was able to squeeze an extra 86 horsepower from the V-8. For this, the tuner did some changes to the engine management, including updates to the injection, ignition, and electronic boost pressure control.

The result is a total of 698 horsepower and 655 pound-feet of torque.

DMC was actually able to surpass Novitec when it comes about power upgrade: its kit for the Roma "only" delivers 694 horsepower and 651 pound-feet of torque.

The extra power also helped improving the car’s performance figures. The base Roma goes from 0 to 62 mph in 3.4 seconds. The sprint to 124 mph takes 9.3 seconds, while top speed comes in at 199 mph.

For the DMC kit, these numbers went down a little: 0 to 62 mph is now done in 3.2 seconds, 0 to 124 mph in 8.9 seconds, while top speed goes up to 203 mph.

What about the looks?

Depending on the option you go for they are priced as follow: $3,590 for the pre-peg carbon ones or at $4,290 for the forged carbon ones

DMC is also improving the look of the Roma a little by adding a body kit made out of carbon fiber. For example, there is a new carbon fiber front lip splitter that will make the front look a little bit more aggressive.

It can either be ordered in pre-peg carbon ($3,590) or forged carbon ($4,290).

Same goes for the new carbon fiber rear diffuser: a pre-peg carbon one will cost you $4,990. The rear also gets a carbon fiber rear spoiler lip, priced at $3,590 for the pre-peg carbon one or at $4,290 for the forged carbon one.

And finally, the kit also includes new carbon fiber side skirts, priced the same as the rest of the parts: $3,590 for the pre-peg carbon ones or at $4,290 for the forged carbon ones.
